A Dinka boy grows up in a cattle camp in Eastern Rumbek, South Sudan. The Dinka are the primary ethnic group in South Sudan. Traditionally pastoralists, they live in camps with hundreds or even thousands of cows. The white marks on the boy's face are cow dung ash, which serves as both a cosmetic and insect repellent.
