In West Africa, certain villages have markets that "assemble" at regular intervals, such as weekly or every three days.  The sheep on the back of this man's bicycle is destined for sale at Djibo's weekly Wednesday market in northern Burkina Faso, where people from villages around the region converge to buy and sell food, livestock, and other goods and services.
